- SwimFin is the first truly new development in swimming aids for decades. Worn on the back, it does not hamper or restrict the ability to move in the water. Unlike armbands, discs, life vests and noodles, SwimFin is streamlined and does not need to be inflated and deflated to add or reduce support.
- With SwimFin, the lower you are in the water the more support it provides, as would be the case with a beginner. The higher you are in the water the less support it gives you as would be the case with an improving swimmer. SwimFin compensates for different abilities. SwimFin makes learning to swim fun, but even after it has done its job as a learning aid, it will always find use as a water toy, strengthening ability and building confidence.
- SwimFin is a flotation device that provides as much buoyancy as the swimmer needs while helping maintain a good body position in the water. Other instruction aids tend to tip the swimmer forward or hold them upright, resulting in a swimming position that impedes movement throug
- It's a fact that the human body is naturally buoyant: we don't sink to the bottom of the pool and crawl along the floor like a crab. By using too much buoyancy assistance other floatation aids lift the body unnaturally in the water and if positioned wrongly on the body, can tip it forward. When this happens, the body acts on a see-saw principle which then forces the swimmers face into the water as the hips and legs come up (which in most cases causes panic). Because SwimFin is predominantly vertical and out of the water, it works in harmony with the users natural buoyancy level. By promoting the shark / dolphin image children are more inclined to voluntarily put their faces into the water, enhancing body position and making movement through the water easier.
- SwimFin has recently been endorsed by the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) in the UK and is the only swimming aid to win their approval. In a Press Release on 29th October 2008 they state that [The ASA has given its endorsement to SwimFin - a new floatation device - and will now be encouraging the use the innovative creation. The ASAs swimming experts have examined and tested SwimFin and classed it as an outstanding product worthy of accreditation.] SwimFin also complies with life-jacket standards and international safety (ISO) regulations EN13138 and EN71.

beginners, a lower body in the water causing more SwimFin sink? (Imagine pushing a beach ball under water). This gives the swimmer more uplift and support without arms is limited (such as might occur with armbands). For starters really sure SwimFin could replace the armbands forever!
confidence grows, there are more improved body position [and this is the clever bit] SwimFin seems out of the water and now provide slightly less support. Generally, at this stage of development swimmers armbands or other devices will be reduced. SwimFin automatically, along with the swimmers natural ability, but also provide direct support if needed. SwimFin swimmers learn to trust them.
horizontal position SwimFin practically out of the water, providing little or no support. However, students develop the confidence to know that support is there if needed. Even better swimmers can wear them all the time. Remember, if out of the water, then there is no buoyancy aid and because it's easy, it will not impede the movement of water.
SwimFin is also suitable for swimming on the back. Students only look at SwimFin and because it provides maximum lift (beach ball syndrome), replacing the need for teachers or parents to provide support. He also worked in a keel-like fashion (like a cruise ship) provide stability. This encourages a slimmer leg kick from which in turn helps to establish a balance. If necessary, the swimmer should roll off and become a child SwimFin on his forehead and helps to build and maintain a safe and secure environment stands upright in the water.

This was fantastic, my child has special needs and this was a really good buy for swimming.
I bought this 'shark fin' for my daughter as she used it for her swimming lessons. Much easier than a woggle as it allows her arms to be free. It's very cool and funky too. A lot sturdier than I expected. Excellent product.

This is an excellent product and has helped to develop water confidence and swimming technique. I would recommend this to others.
Absolutely a must have for the non swimmer or less confident swimmers - my 6 yr old son loved putting it on & his confidence grew daily as he "swam" further each day & the Fin was very popular amongst the rest of the holiday makers at the pool ! Highly recommended !!

This is a great product. My daughter (age 6) and her friends loved playing with it so much - her friend asked for it for her birthday present. My daughter is a very good swimmer and just uses it to play and pretend to be a shark or be chased by the shark but her friends who arent such confident swimmers enjoy using it as a float and aid to buoyancy. It also helps them keep get the correct position when swimming and keeps their arms free to swim (contrary to armbands or rubber rings which get in the way of the arm movement)
I bought this for my daughter who is a very nervous early swimmer. It was a great confidence booster, easy to get on and off, left arms mobile, and yet gave her a sense of independence going out of her depth. Lightweight, dries quickly.
The only concern I have is whether it's actually too good- when she tried swimming without it, her legs kept sinking and she felt rather vulnerable. Yet it was great peace of mind for all of us knowing that if she ventured into the deep end she would be OK (although not sold as a safety device), and she got some good stroke practice in. Useful.
fantastic product - really simple but effective. We got a bit bored of our son either sinking to the bottom of the pool or cliniging on to one of us! He is 2 and a half and very water confident and now with the swim fin he can be independent in the pool. He loves wearing it and paddled around by himself within a few minutes of first trying it - a big success.
Both my 7 year old and my 4 year old love the swim fin. It really boosted the 7 year old confidence and the 4 year old loves playing sharks!

I purchased the swimfin for my 5 year old grandson after hearing about it on holiday. As in the picture, it is fin shaped, comes in great colours and fits round the body with two adjustable straps.
Although he can't swim properly he is fairly confident in water, but with the swimfin he was off like a rocket and immediately swum a width, just like that. He is delighted with the idea of being mistaken for a shark and is looking forward to wearing it in the sea for maximum effect.
I'd say it does everything it says. Any criticism I have is about product information. I wasn't aware until after my purchase that it comes in different sizes/weights, and it was only by luck that we have the one we need. The backpack looked interesting, but it was a while before I worked out that it wasn't any kind of additional buoyancy aid, but just a neat way of carrying everything around. Information could be a lot clearer and more detailed, especially on the official website.
The sad thing is that he is not allowed to wear it at his school swimming lessons, not at swim club which cuts down his opportunity to use it quite a bit. I don't know whether this is because the teachers don't know what it does, or just a general ban on any kind of aid. Either way it's a shame as it does add fun and confidence to his swimming sessions.
